Did you know that Beloit, WI has it’s very own Supper Club? Beloit actually has three supper club experiences, in my opinion- The Butterfly Club located on County Road X, the 615 Club located downtown on Grand Ave, and Benedetti’s, located on Riverside drive.
Since relocating our family back to Beloit in 2016, we have never tried Benedetti’s, so last Friday we made reservations to try their famous fish fry! We started off strong with a classic Old Fashioned and fried cheese sticks. I mean, are you even living in Wisconsin if you don’t indulge in Old Fashioned cocktails and cheese (bonus points if the cheese is fried...). Both were delightful.
I ordered the fried fish- which was what everyone I talked to recommended. Juan ordered a steak sandwich, my youngest got a kids steak, my older daughter got chicken tenders and her boyfriend got a hamburger. The steak sandwich got a solid thumbs up, as did the tenders and burger. The fish was eh. It tasted good but was rubbery. :-(. I was slightly disappointed and ended up filling up on my baked potato.
We needed a save, so I am glad we decided to order the Grasshopper- check it out!!!
The Grasshopper does have alcohol in it, and there are about five more booze infused ice cream drinks to choose from... We could not finish it, so the waitress was kind enough to pack it up for us to take home. I am guessing that I am not the first one to have this issue, as she had plastic containers on hand, lol. All in all, the experience was fun! I look forward to the next local eating adventure!
